Book Look - #4

HARRY POTTER and THE DEATHLY HALLOWS by J.K.Rowling

Plot: The daunting task set by Dumbledore makes Harry,Ron & Hermione seek untraceable  horcruxes to destroy them & ward off the Voldemort threat to mudbloods & Hogwarts. A startling revelation on the past life of Dumbledore makes Harry's task all the more difficult to carry off & Voldemort's resurrection doesn't help the cause either. The saga ends with a spectacular sequence at Hogwarts & it is,as always, the triumph of good over evil!

Highlights:
  • The picturesque and highly descriptive narration of Rowling took me to the good old Enid Blyton days.
  • The revelation of Dumbledore's childhood,Godric's Hollow & the logically conceived Elder Wand Hallow explanation sequences were particularly engaging.
  • The book meanders at a steady pace till a point. And when Harry gets on the trail of the horcrux at Hogwarts, the momentum picks up and the journey retains its top speed till the astonishing twist in the climax.
