- A fabulous film on a fairy tale & a civil war set in the milieu of a fascinating forest with some wonderfully conceived scenes(the climax being one such scene).
- The locations,music & terrific cinematography - The camera doesn't remain stationary even for about 10% of the film. The style of making is a definite source of inspiration for films like Raavanan made in this style.
- The cute & beautiful girl who plays Ofelia - She emotes wonderfully well & the role of the villanous army captain.
- The initial focus on fairies shifts to the civil war & the fairies' fable keeps coming and going at will.
