Two line Reviews - #26

Movie:Jackie Brown(1997)

Claps:
The making - Tarantino has got style (I hear you saying "As if nobody knows!")
His style is similar to Hitchcock in that there are close up shots, long shots, long dialog sequences. But,the two are poles apart when it comes to the question of their orthodoxies. QT gives an exciting masala flavor.

The plot and the screenplay are pluses.

Samuel L Jackson - Tarantino seems to know how best to use him. I haven't seen him as stylish in films he has worked with others.

Blips:
The role of De Niro. Well, he could have got any dumb ass to do that role. Why a master class act. Save one scene, De Niro has been wasted.
The trap set for Ordell in the climax is weak. How he believes it is difficult to fathom.

Overall Score: 8.9/10

Two line Reviews - #23

Movie:Raging Bull(1980)

Claps:
It was a film on the life and ways of a boxer and not a boxing film. The making complemented that.
Robert De Niro as the sadomasochist & severely possessive husband is spectacular in his role as Jake La Motta.(He just becomes a fat pig after retirement. What dedication!)
The scenes involving his famous rage, that too when he belts his wife and brother are fiery.

Blips:
Mafia seems to play a role in title shot matches. But,he does win it at the end with nobody's help. Why could he not have done it before?

Overall Score: 9.0/10

Two line Reviews - #8

Movie: The Untouchables (1987)

Claps:
The mindblowing cameos of Sean Connery,Robert De Niro.
The nonchalant performance of Kevin Costner.
A few gripping sequences(The railway station & Canada bridge scenes in particular)
Ennio Morricone's racy music aiding Brian de palma's racy screenplay

Blips:
The time that the events in the movie span is less. So,it doesn't leave a big impact after one watches it.

Overall Score - 8.9/10

Two line Reviews - #2

Movie: Cape Fear

Pluses:
The De Niro Scorsese combination.
De Niro just terrorises in all ways possible - Body language, Accent, tatooed toned physique.
The girl who plays the child of Nolte - Brilliant portrayal of a confused teenager.
The Music - Apt for the genre.

Minuses:
Climax could have been better.
A remake,so not all credits can go to the team.

Overall Score - 8.8/10
